And now for the fun part!  Recently we started providing this questionnaire to our couples so we can share on the blog.  I swear sometimes I tear up reading what couples write when learning how they met, what they love about each other, etc..

Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, why? Come on, give us the details, our inquiring minds want to know.

We originally met during the January Term our high school in the nutrition and wellness class we had both sign up for. We mostly hung out on opposite sides of the room during the course but I remember one time Eric making fun of me because I was stuck hiking up and down the hills of downtown Tacoma in high heels because we has an unexpected field trip that day.  We didn't really start to hang out and get to know each other well until the next year when we ended up in the same humanities class and started to eat lunch together with some mutual friends.

When did now he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?

Eric: When I spontaneously saw her the next day after going to the recruiting office and figuring out that I was going to join the Marines. Most women would be outraged, but she stood by me through the whole possess and arranged her life around my job.

Carly: I would have to say it was towards the end of my senior year of high school. I had been going through a very hard time most of the year dealing with some personal issues. Throughout the whole time he was always supportive of me and did his best to help me with a situation that he didn't really know a whole lot about dealing with. I feel like it was a situation in which most people might have bailed and he stuck by me through it all.

Tell us about the proposal. Example: Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel?

He proposed to me right after the Christmas holiday the day before he had to head back to his duty station in California. We had decided to go out to dinner at olive garden and after we had finished eating and were about to leave he stopped me and pulled the ring out from behind my ear like people do in that magic trick with the coin. I was overjoyed and loved the way he did it since we'd always been a pretty cheesy couple. I'd had a feeling that he might be proposing soon since he had bringing up us moving in together where he was station a lot beforehand.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Eric: I love the fact that she is a huge nerd and not afraid to admit it. I'm pretty sure she out-nerds me and most of the people I know.

Carly: I love his sense of humor. He is always able to cheer me up and make me laugh no matter how crummy a day I've had.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky about the other person does.

Carly: He will randomly hug me in his sleep.

Eric: When she cooks or bakes she sings and dances all throughout the kitchen.

Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

We both looked forward to getting a chance to see our families after being in separate states for so long and the cheesecake. We love our cheesecake

What’s your favorite trend for weddings right now?

I'd have to say my favorite trend that I've seen right now is the idea of having the couples wedding theme be centered around their your favorite TV show, comic book character or book series. I love all the fun and creative things people come up with to represent the common interest that the couple bonds over.

What inspired your wedding décor or theme?

We wanted to have a wedding that was more relaxed in some senses and showed off things that we loved and enjoyed. We both have a huge love of Batman and other superheroes so it was fun for us to be able to share that with others in a unique way by having the different superhero masks for the photo booth.

What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to wedding planning?

I think for us planning a wedding in Washington from California just wish that we had a better plan about how to get things that needed to be done in Washington done. We had a lot of help from my mom Lorraine in doing all the stuff that we could not get done from California. I would definitely recommend other brides in similar situations to considered hiring a planner to help out with the smaller details that can be hard to do from a distance.
