Winter Wedding Photo Shoot

SONY DSC

Late February we went out with the our photography group that we host for a bridal shoot/challenge in the snow – white on white.  Let me tell you it was VERY COLD outside and I have great deal of admiration for the models who were modeling for the photographers because we all wanted “ONE MORE shot”, and they did it gracefully, with a smile and never once complained about the cold!  I didn’t get many opportunities to photograph as I was making sure the ‘brides’ were getting bundled up and warmed up from time to time and then rotating models/photographers.  A few times we were able to go into the lodge and warm up for a few minutes then and back to the snowy cold but beautiful outdoors!

Senior Portrait ~ Aiden

Spring and fall are busy times for senior portraits.  In the spring, the realization of moving forward in life really starts to hit the seniors.  Time moves quickly and before they know they will be off to college, joining the military or finding jobs and finding their places.

If you are graduating, like Aiden and in need of senior portraits be sure to give us a call right away as we have a limited amount of time to get these done and ready for you!

Cammie ~ Senior 2013

Every time I look at these photographs of Cammie, I start thinking she looks like a Hollywood movie star.  Not, that I’ve been able to determine which star I think she most looks like!  The name has been at the tip of my tongue and that’s as far as I get.  Anyway, we had a lot of fun photographing Cammie around our studio in downtown Tacoma.

If you are still looking to get senior pictures completed, give us a call at 253-970-5689 to book your session.  Limited sessions are available before school lets out!

Fabulous Women

Below are the before/after photos of the wonderful and beautiful women who came to our studio for a day of hair, makeup and photography.  Some of the after photos weren’t my particular favorite from the their session, however, they were the best to help illustrate the transformations that took place.

Recently we had added boudoir to our repertoire of services provided and what hit me the most about the boudoir was how women walked away feeling empowered, beautiful, confident and held their head high as they left our studio.  However, I knew it wasn’t something I would even dare consider doing myself; partly due to my age, partly due to my weight, partly due to my scars, but if truth be told I’m not confident enough to do boudoir.

It was after watching those women who came in for the boudoir, that I realized I needed to take control of myself instead of neglecting myself and feeling unworthy of attention.  Years of past abuse in my life have been engrained in my thinking and I’m slowly working past the abuse inflicted on me and I continually give thanks that I now have a wonderful, patient & loving husband who knows when to step back to give me space so I can work things out and when to step in and stop the negativity in my own head.

Anyway, I really wanted to add a photography service, a ‘experience’ for those of us who just aren’t at the boudoir comfort level for whatever reason.  We all have our own fears and comfort levels.  Even at this particular session there were women attending who were uncomfortable simply hearing how beautiful they look.  Sadly, I could relate, I’d be uncomfortable too.  However, I am slowly learning that we are our own worst enemy, we often see the worst in ourselves instead of looking at the wonderful and beautiful qualities we have inside and out.  I’m learning that we truly need to love ourselves in order to fully love those around us.  That alone is a work in progress!

If you are interested in a ‘glamour’ session please give us a call and we will have a hair & makeup person come and then we will show you through our camera how beautiful you truly are!  Beauty comes from within and when you feel wonderful, it’s going to show in your images.

We are also scheduling some mother/daughter sessions.  So consider bringing your mom or daughter, imagine both of you getting made over, a little bonding time and then having the beautiful memories preserved.

Last summer Anthony & Sarah shared their wedding vows with family and close friends at Titlow Lodge which is part of the Tacoma Parks.

We were honored when Sarah & Anthony asked if we would photograph their wedding.  Anthony is (no, was) a wedding videographer that we had worked with in the past and had always admired his work.  He has since moved on to commercial work and brides are now left without our favorite videographer to recommend.

Later we found out that Sarah worked for our vet here in Tacoma, and she’s not only down to earth, she’s a true pet lover.  How could we not love photographing these two!

The day flowed very smoothly and they opted to do their portraits at the end of the ceremony and reception activities so that they wouldn’t hold guests up and Sarah wouldn’t have to worry about her dress getting dirty.  It was very relaxing going afterwards for their photographs at the park and waterfront.

Again, thank-you Anthony & Sarah for allowing us the opportunity to photograph your wedding and sorry it took so darn long to blog the wedding!  We are slowly getting caught up with all our blogging efforts.

Kathie & Bob~ Tacoma Wedding

Kathie & Bob came to our studio after their very intimate Tacoma wedding.  They arrived at our studio glowing and yes, giggling with delight which was very infectious.  Their portrait session was short and sweet, just long enough to capture a wee bit of the day while in their wedding clothes.  Congratulations Kathie & Bob, we wish you two years of happiness.
