Senior Portrait ~ Jake

When we met with Jake at Spanaway Park and showed him the area we were thinking of for his session.  The first thing he wanted was IN the water.  The wetter the better!  For the last photo in black & white, Sonny had to get waist deep into the water himself to get that photograph, which is one Jake’s favorite photographs.

Trash the Dress ~ Farm Style

When we first planned this photo shoot with Hannah for our photography group the idea was to have this romantic scene with the bride riding off to her prince or her prince charming coming in on his horse.  However, those things didn’t happen and the area we were shooting had several homes in the area with a lot of fencing.  So, while the shoot didn’t go as planned, we had fun, the dress got ‘trashed’ at the farm.  In reality, the dress is now cleaned and perfectly fine.  Have you been thinking of doing a photo shoot in your wedding dress?  If so, give us a call we can arrange to get  you hair, makeup and a fun session in your bridal gown, it can be trashed or you can just rock the frock!

Engaged ~ Jessica & Chris

Jessica & Chris came to our photography studio so she could get her make-up done by ‘Bella by Amber’ and then we headed out around the downtown area before finishing up at Point Defiance Park.  We had rain before their session and a bit after but none during, which was good because Jessica was home from college and only had a few days available.  We are looking forward to their July 2014 wedding at Dragonfly Resort in Bothell, WA.

Spring Color

Hope you don’t mind me sharing a different type of portraits, the portrait of spring color and beauty.  Each evening Sonny & I try to take a walk around the neighborhood or at a local park.  Lately, I’ve had to go out on my own since he’s now working a later shift.  So, to motivate myself to get out alone I’ve been taking my camera and photographing the neighbors flowers.  This gets me out, keeps me walking in search of the perfect flowers and allows me to have a little fun with my beloved camera.

Happy Memorial Day weekend, we hope everyone is having a fun and safe weekend.  To our military (current & retired), many thanks for serving our country, providing us with a safe place to live where we can pursue our dreams and goals in life.

Alexander Country Inn ~ Marion & Rob

Wedding Photographers l Family Affair Photography

Wedding Venue l Alexander Country Inn, Ashford, WA

Hair & Make-up l Bella by Amber

We went back to one of our favorite wedding locations, Alexander Country Inn.  While it’s not for large weddings, (100 + guests) it’s the perfect venue for an elopement, an intimate wedding with family and friends.  Marion & Rob had an ‘elopement’ of sorts as they had no one at the wedding with them.  They wanted it to be a very private affair and later have a reception with family and friends.
