Family Portrait Day at Spanaway Park

This past weekend about a dozen photographers in our photography group got together for a family portrait day at Spanaway Park.  Families walked the park rotating between the 12 photographers who were all set at ‘stations’ throughout a small part of the park.  It was a fun day for all who attended, the families because they were free to walk around, play a bit between portraits, chat with other family members or friends.  For the photographers, we had the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful families who were eager to see what each photographer would create for them.

Below is a small sample of what Sonny and I photographed at the event, we each had our own stations instead of working together as we normally do.  I will admit this now, I missed my husband at my side, and I value having him there to help entertain the children by getting all goofy on me.  Sonny was stationed at the bridge that crosses a little creek and I was at a fallen log with some shrubs, by the check-in/out point of the event.

Thank-you to the other participating photographers and thank-you to the families who took the time to come out for their family portraits and who are now waiting patiently for all the photos that are coming from the various photographers. I promise, once I get them from the photographers you will be getting your package.

Nyrel & Travis

SONY DSCSONY DSC

Nyrel & Travis met us at Point Defiance Park for their portrait session while Travis was home on R&R.  I know how valued the photographs are to our soldiers who are deployed away from their loved ones.  My own sons wanted photos more than anything else, except maybe beef jerky from Stewarts Meat in McKenna. =)

Thank-you Travis & Nyrel for your service to our country.

For those of you who have found our blog through Google, thank-you!  We are still here, still operating our business and busy editing photos today.

However, you will not find our website or be able to e-mail us as an anonymous hacker in Brazil has effectively shut down 53,000,000 businesses websites, e-mails and some blogs hosted through Go Daddy, the worlds largest online host.

If you would like to reach us today the best way is by calling or texting us at 253-970-5689 or you can find us on Facebook.

Wishing all a great day!

Mike & Andrea’s wedding is one that won’t be forgotten for a LONG time.  When we met them for the very first time at the consultation, our first impression of Andrea was the quiet librarian type.  Oh yeah, don’t let her appearances fool you, this girl is full of life and fun!

They were married at the quaint Divine Elegance Wedding Chapel just outside Tacoma’s Point Defiance Park.  The chapel was filled with family and friends who smiled and laughed their way through much of the ceremony along with the couple as they made their promises to each other.

After the wedding it was followed by an exuberant reception filled with live music, great food, and of course friendship.  We ended up staying longer than planned as we were loving the live music and being ‘front row’ of this private concert and yes, the band was good!

Some of the known details:

Wedding Venue:  Divine Elegance Wedding Chapel

Catering: Ernies Grubbin Grubb

Band:  Radio Edit
