Family Portrait @ Point Defiance Park, Tacoma

Here I was thinking that I was doing really good keeping up with blogging until last night, when I realized that I’ve missed a few portrait sessions that I had promised to share on the blog.  We love getting out with families for portrait session is what you want to make of it.  If you want the session to look like a day out with a candid feel or if you want a more formal type session, we can arrange either style!

We met with Matt & Demi at Point Defiance Park for their session with their handsome young son who wasn’t so sure about this picture taking adventure.  Even if he wasn’t willing to smile despite us acting goofy just for him, I still thought he was totally adorable.

Tacoma Wedding ~ Rita & John’s wedding photographs

When I first met Rita & John, I knew this was going to be a wedding with a lot of laughter and good times for all who attended.  These two not only appreciate life, they truly appreciate the journey it took to find each other.

There were several good-looking children at the wedding – and of course we ‘had’ to photograph these little charmers! =)

Rita & John wanted their guests to have some fun during the reception and booked our “Smile Sensation Station” – a fun filled, prop filled photo station with it’s own designated photographer.

Newborn - Silas

Meet 9 day young Silas!  He was the center of attention with mom, dad and grandma all being charmed and delighted by him.   And look at him, how can you NOT be charmed by him?

One thing we quickly learned about Silas was the fact that he preferred to have clothes on or to be wrapped in blankets.   It’s much easier to work with their likes then trying to get a photograph what makes baby cranky!   For such a little one, they sure have a lot of control on the session. =)

Both mom and dad work for Nintendo – so naturally we had to add baby Mario.

The driftwood hammock is a new prop that my husband, Sonny made for the newborn sessions.

For newborn sessions we encourage that parents plans on having the session done within the first 10 days of birth, because they sleep more and are easier to pose for their portraits.

Newborn portraits ~ Jacob

For several years, Family Affair Photography has been focused on photographing weddings.  I had so much fun with my first wedding several years ago that I just had to do more.  While I still LOVE wedding photography, I have come to realize with this first newborn session that I REALLY LOVE photographing newborns and getting the bonus of sweet cuddle time in between some of the shots.

We photographed Jacob at his home with his family close by.  For newborns, only a small space is required.  Right now – for a limited time, as we build our portfolio newborn sessions are HALF price.  Call us at 253-970-5689 or e-mail us at info@familyaffairphotography.com to book your session.

Ideally the best time to photograph newborns is during the first two weeks, preferably within the first 10 days.  Jacob here was 4 days young.

Thank-you Jacob’s Family for allowing us this wonderful opportunity to photograph your son.  Family and Friends, please feel free to share your thoughts about the photographs or some well wishes for this precious little boy!
