June & Will ~ Alexander Country Inn

SONY DSC

Alexander Country Inn is one of my favorite places for the smaller more intimate weddings.  I’ve come to realize there isn’t a season when the Inn doesn’t shine and look beautiful  June & Will were married late spring of 2012 and yes, I’m still working on catching up on past weddings (and portraits) that didn’t get posted in a timely manner.  Getting photos to the customers ranked far higher than maintaining the blog.

We loved the story of June & Will, both put off dating and relations for many years while they raised children.  June put her children first and wouldn’t date others as she didn’t want a bunch of different men coming in and out of her children’s lives.  She always put them first and her adult children were so excited to see that she was now dating and found a wonderful loving man who hadn’t been out there for women either.

We photograph weddings large and small.   So, if you have an elopement style wedding you know who to call now!

Sayuri & Kory ~ Seattle Engagement

SONY DSC

Sayuri & Kory wanted part of their engagement session to tell the story of how Kory proposed to Sayuri.  They met while going to school at UW, both love to play tennis and both were in the school of engineering and had many classes together.

Anyway, to the engagement session!  Deep in his pocket he had a tennis ball with a small slit where he slipped an engagement ring for Sayuri.  As they were walking he stooped down and picked up a ball he ‘found’, as Sayuri inspected the ball she saw the slit and declared it unworthy and attempted to throw it to the ocean!  Yikes!  The ball and the ring were saved, and both were used in their engagement portraits.  It’s always fun to hear about the proposal and this time we were able to help re-create the event.

Congratulation Kory & Sayuri, we wish you the best!

Ellis Family ~ Studio Portraits

www.familyaffairphoto.comwww.familyaffairphoto.comwww.familyaffairphoto.comwww.familyaffairphoto.com

We started the Ellis Family session in the studio for a few minutes before venturing outside to continue their photo shoot at a park close to our studio.  Since the studio is a new addition for us at Family Affair Photography I thought I’d share that portion of the session.  If it’s raining out, we can do the session indoors and if it clears up as it did for the Ellis family we can trek outdoors.  We offer everything from family portraits, business head shots to boudoir in the studio.

Sandra & Jeffrey ~ Fabulous Fifties Hall

The wedding was on one of our hottest days this past summer, so these two bridesmaids found a large fan at the reception site to be a very appealing place to  hang out. =)  (I liked it too for brief cool downs)

Sandra & Jeffrey had a church wedding followed by a reception at the Fabulous Fifties Hall in Tacoma.  To keep with the fifties theme, they had a dance instructor from Studio 6 Ballroom come in and give some dance lessons that most of the guests participated so they could jump, jive and boogie the night away.

After the ceremony and before heading to the reception we made a quick stop at Wapato Park in Tacoma for some outdoor photos.  Sandra & Jeffrey wanted the greenery as they were moving to AZ immediately after the wedding.

To book your wedding day photography, just give us a call, shoot us an e-mail or like us on Facebook and send us a message there!

Amber & Kevin found us through the photography group we run for aspiring portrait photographers.  They were getting married in Michigan (last summer) and were hoping to get some engagement portraits while Amber was out visiting Kevin who was at the time serving at JBLM.  We pulled together a few photographers and set out for Spanaway Park for their fun session that ended with a loving yet well fought silly string battle.

Gabrielle’s Three

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

Gabrielle had come to us before to have her daughter photographed because she has expressed an interest in becoming a model.  This time she brought her two boys along to the session so she could get something for Christmas.  While her boys are good looking themselves they reminded me of my own boys who do not enjoy being photographed.  So, we made a game of it, they took turns working on posing.  By letting them come up with ideas, it became ‘tolerable’ to the boys. =)  I’ll take tolerable!
