                   Image of the Day: Daddy's Home!

Photographing the homecomings for our soldiers and their families has been one of the highlights in my life.  I feel so honored when I'm invited to photograph the event. 

Recently we had an article written about us and our work with Operation: Love Reunited in a local paper, the Home Town Clipper which serves Dupont, Steilacoom & Anderson Island.  If you get a chance to pick up that paper you will find the article on page 8 (full page),  We were blown away to find it was a full page dedicated to our business!  Thank you Amy Lenz for the wonderful write up! =)

For years, the Hawaiian's have been using sand in the marriage ceremony.  Since many of the weddings are preformed on the beach, during the ceremony the couple would scoop up a handful of sand and combine the sand into a jar while saying some words of their choice.

The jar is then taken to their new home to symbolize the new union.   Once the sand is poured together it can never be separated as the sand becomes one, as in marriage. This simple ceremony has now become popularized. Many couples like the Unity Sand Ceremony better than the Unity Candle Ceremony because the sand will last forever while the candle is eventually consumed.

Nicole & Hoyt ~ Orcas Island Wedding

We recently had the opportunity to go to Orcas Island to photograph the wedding of Nicole & Hoyt.  They were high school sweethearts who both later attended and recently graduated from the University of California, Davis.      
                 
               
The ceremony took place looking out on the water and the other islands at beautiful and historic Orcas Hotel.
        

       


        
        
       

The guest would clink their glasses often to make the couple kiss.
         
              Their reflection in the wine glass.
         
         
The father of the bride gave a touching toast to the couple.

Lacey & Robert ~ Roy Wedding

We first met Lacey & Robert at the wedding of Ingrid & Jonathon (Robert's brother).   Soon after we saw them again at the wedding of  Auralee & Brett.  This time we had the honor to photograph their wedding. 
           
          

Lacey was escorted down the aisle by her brother and her grandfather.
 
         
        
       


      
  I loved watching the two of them together. =)

I asked the ring bearer if the cake was good.  I knew it was since it was a Celebrity Studio Cake.  His expression was good enough answer. =)
      
They had our Smile Sensation Station at their wedding.  The station is always a big hit with guests.
