Lisa, Tom & Grace

When Lisa contacted me for a family portrait, we had no idea what would take place after this session.  Tom had suggested they get some family portraits and she made the arrangements.  Honestly, it’s rare when the man makes such a request!  Anyway, we had a brief mini session at Point Defiance Park and we all went our merry way.

Later that night I received an excited message from Lisa stating they were now engaged!  This will be a second (and lasting) marriage for both of them.  So, we have a new family forming here, isn’t that exciting!  Congratulations, I couldn’t be happier for the three of you.

Heather & Mike ~ Gig Harbor Family Portrait

Every year Heather & Mike get their family portraits taken with their fur babies.  This year we opted to meet in Gig Harbor for some waterfront portraits.  Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to get their session in time for them to make Christmas cards.

V family at Wright Park

The V family scheduled a session with us last year and then had to cancel due to weather, then illness and the session never happened.  So this year, they decided to try again so they could have a family portrait with some fall colors and photos to send out at Christmas.  We had beautiful weather and everyone was healthy so this year we were able to get their family portraits done before the rain hit!  There’s still time to get your family portraits for Christmas cards, if it’s raining we can go to our downtown Tacoma Studio.

Sawyer ~ 6 months young!

I just have to say this, Sawyer is just a bundle of pure JOY!  I can see how much joy and love she has added to her family.  Before I know it, I’ll be seeing her again for her 9 month old session, we will see more growth and changes.  This time she was doing a fake cough, giggling and just happy to be exploring all that life has to offer.

Every year, we get to see Aurora AKA Roar for her birthday photos.  She’s FOUR already!  How time flies.  With each year we get to see more of her personality emerge and it’s such a joy to see the growth and changes in this beautiful young lady.

Roar’s session started at Point Defiance Park for some fun outdoor photographs then we moved over to our studio so she could dress up with her mom for something a little more formal.  While mom was putting on her makeup Roar casually started getting herself ready too. =)  Don’t you like her lipstick?  Gotta love it!

Greg, Kristina & Josiah

People often ask if our business name (Family Affair Photography) is because we specialize in family portraits.  The answer often surprises people.  No, the name came about because our business was truly a family affair.  It started with me (Monica) wanting to make photography a business back in 2004.  Soon I had my husband, Sonny joining me and shortly after that my daughter joined too creating a family business.  It was at that time I didn’t want the business to reflect only my name and we decided on ‘Family Affair Photography.

Weddings was where we got our business start and that was our focus for several years, then past customers started asking us to photograph their growing families and at that we incorporated family portraits, senior portraits and now boudoir to our line-up.

Let’s get to Greg, Kristina & Josiah!  We met them at Spanaway Park for their family portrait session.  They wanted some as a family and a few of just the two of them (Greg & Kristina).  Josiah was a bit shy but quickly warmed up and played along with us.  Thank-you for selecting us for your family portraits!

Seahawk Fans ~ Mother/Daughter Portraits

SONY DSC

Living Social customer Christina wanted some photographs with her mother in their Seahawk tee shirts that showed their Hawk pride, gave their ages and showed their relationship.  Both were a lot of fun and were not afraid to goof off in front of the camera for some fun mother/daughter portraits.  Are you wanting some portraits with your mom or dad?  Give us a call, come in and have fun with them to preserve some great memories!

Kelly & Sons

Kelly wanted some portraits with her twin high school senior sons before they head off to college next year, so she took advantage of our Living Social portrait special to get some backyard portraits for her family walls.  Family portraits can be done at our studio, local parks or even your backyard if you so desire!
